Hi every-one,
finally made my way here.
I have been with Lasertag since 2019, when my daughter came home from Paintball covered with the predicted bruises. Then I started to look for something "less invasive" an discovered the Recoil equipment for me.
It began with a starter set with 2 RK-45 and a SR-12 to gain some experience.
This was followed by some extra ordering of equipment due to some really cheap sales on Amazon.
Then I started to 3D-print a storage system to have it all in place on one wall.
I joined the different Facebook groups and started with some other German fellows to create and program the "Digital Flags" for the Recoil system.
Therefore I searched thouroughly through existing data sets and information on the net which deals with all the technical features behind the system.
Programming platform was Arduino IDE with mainly ESP8266.
Finally we went to the first prototype and 2 years later to a version that communicates over UDP with the mobile app (based on SimpleCoil).
Several videos on this and on other (planned) equipment can be seen on the Youtube channel Asgarond.
Together with Jordan Farrell (Feralbytes) I redesigned his software "Freecoil" which is slowly but steadily evolving.
Out of the necessety to gain access to the original Recoil Game App and other Android 3rd party apps I created a German Recoil website and App Server where I got the permission from Goliath Games to use the contents from the original website (which has been disabled in 2021).
So though I am primarily handling with the Recoil equipment I also bought a stock of LTARs, but do not really started into programming equipment for that protocol.
My expection from this forums is to gain more information on lasertag in general and of course contribute with my so far collected experiences (mainly from the Recoil system).
Cheers
Andre
